Love the wooden stocking hangers! They worked wonderfully this Christmas and held all the weight perfectly! Hi there I just had to write and say how beautiful these personalized Christmas stockings are! They are way beyond what I expected they really are heavy 100 percent wool, generous size stockings! So to any of you who are on the fence, buy them before they are gone…you will be so happy you did.The colors are a rich berry and perfect forest green. I scoured the internet because I wanted to give my family something homemade and beautiful that could be passed down through the years and this more than fit the bill. I just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful stocking kits. When I found out that I was pregnant with our first child in January of this year, I began working on her stocking and then continued to make one for each member of our family (including our cat!). What a wonderful way to keep busy during those months and feel like I was making something that we could keep in the family for many years to come. I talked with you on the phone before thanksgiving asking about how to fit a long name on a stocking. I really enjoyed talking to you (at least I think it was you). I have made 5 of your stockings this year. These are the last two. I decided to use an angel motif that I had from another pattern. I am quite happy with how they turned out.
I really enjoyed your pattern. I had a lot of family health “stuff” going on this year with my elderly parents etc. Listening to a book on tape (I have been enjoying Jennifer Chiaverini’s “Elm Creek Quilter” series – particularly “The Christmas Quilt”) while I knit these stockings has been my oasis of peace and tranquility through this season.
On thanksgiving, I gave the first two stockings to my young cousin’s children. They are Alex (age 5) and Lauren (age 8). I packaged each stocking with a children’s book that had a Christmas stocking theme. I didn’t really expect much of a reaction from the children – I know that it is visions of TOYS, not books and empty hand knit Christmas stockings that dance in their heads. Well, when Alex took his stocking out of the bag, he gasped and ran with it to his mother, shouting, “IT’S GOT MY NAME ON IT!” I never expected such a reaction over something I knit from a little boy! I think I glowed for the rest of the day!
I live in Waterbury, Connecticut and today we are having a wintery cold day. Up until last week it was unseasonably warm here, but now we are into scarf and mitten weather. I’m guessing Wisconsin has been cold for a while?

Hello, I just wanted to tell you that the 6 stockings that I ordered arrived yesterday. I had been looking for an ‘old fashioned’ type of wool stocking because I don’t like all the felt type stockings that you see on the market these days, and particularly the ones with all the little extras sewn on. They look cheap to me and I just don’t like them.
